Reporting Absence
To Report a Student Absent or Late Please Call 604-898-3688 or Email [email protected] and Your Student(s) Classroom Teacher
It is very important that students attend school each day and arrive to school on time, however, please do not send your child to school if they are ill.
Late Arrivals
Children who arrive late must report to the office before going to their classroom so they can be recorded as present. If your child arrives to school late and they do not check in at the office an email will be sent home to follow up, as we will not know your child has arrived.
Reporting Absences
Parents are asked to notify the school either by calling (604) 898-3688 or emailing the student(s) classroom teacher and [email protected] if their child is going to be absent or late. Messages can be left night or day. Alternatively, a note can be sent in advance to the child’s teacher if you know that the child will be away for an appointment or for other reasons.
If your child is absent when teachers check attendance at 9:00 AM and the school has not been informed of your child’s absence, the school will email the parents/guardians to follow up on the absence.
This will happen between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. on all days that school is in session - please reply promptly to ensure student safety.
When Children are Ill
If students become ill or are injured we send those students home as soon as possible. Our practice is to call or email parents and to ask that the student be picked up. For this reason, it is important that parents keep work and emergency phone numbers as well as your email address updated in our office files.
